RC construction sand party in Parkland with remote-control excavators and dump trucks working in clean play sand.

Young children do not need a complicated competition to have a great birthday. Sometimes the best party is one where they can explore, build and repeat the same satisfying job again and again. That is exactly what the RC Construction Sand Party brings to Parkland events.

Digging and hauling are the entertainment

Children can use remote-control equipment to move sand, then switch to manual excavators, loaders and dump trucks to keep building. The play is simple enough for young guests to understand immediately but open-ended enough that they can create something different every few minutes.

One child can be loading while another is hauling and another is building a road, which naturally turns the sand area into a shared project.

A comfortable outdoor setup

For Parkland backyard birthdays, we place a tarp under every sand party setup. The tarp creates a defined area and helps protect the surface below the play sand.

We also provide a tent for the activity. That gives the construction zone its own footprint and is useful when families want a clearly organized outdoor play station.

Useful for venues with younger guest lists

The construction sand concept can also work for kid-friendly venues and community spaces that approve the setup. It is especially useful when a larger event includes a group of young children who need something age-appropriate to do.

Because the activity is open play, kids can join for a few minutes, step away for food or cake and come back without missing the beginning of a structured game.

Built around imagination rather than competition

The fun is in creating the jobsite. Children can decide where the road goes, which truck carries the next load and what the excavator should dig next.

For a child who points out construction vehicles everywhere you go, a real sand-and-truck activity can make the birthday theme feel personal.

Where to host an RC Construction Sand Party in Parkland

These are outdoor parks and event venues worth asking about for this type of party. A listing here is not a guarantee that the location will approve sand, a tent or an outside entertainment vendor, so always confirm your exact setup before reserving.

Liberty Park — One of the Parkland parks where the City allows approved outside vendors for pavilion events. The park has a pavilion and family recreation space, making it the first City park to ask about for this setup.

Equestrian Center at Temple Park — The other Parkland pavilion location where approved vendors are allowed. Its open setting can make it worth considering for a construction-themed children's event.

Parkland pavilion reservations are for Parkland residents, and the City currently allows outside vendors only at Liberty Park and the Equestrian Center at Temple Park. Vendors must meet the City's insurance requirements, so confirm approval before reserving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can it be set up indoors or outdoors?

Yes. Outdoor setups are popular, but approved indoor or covered venues can also work when there is enough room and the venue allows sand and outside entertainment vendors.
